This client from the food sector invited me initially to talk about usability engineering. During the preperation meetings we figured, that changing the subject to a full-fledged design thinking workshop seemed far more effective. So i worked for two days with an interdisciplinary team on a creative new vacation management system.

For this workshop i was invited by an agency who wanted to learn about customer journey maps. I worked with them hands-on for a whole day. We developed various artifacts like stakeholder-maps, proto-personas and customer journey maps. We also experimented with different creative methods such as context interviews and ideation techniques.

A concept for highly adaptable micro-gamification systems

As part from the PressPlay workshop i held this impulse-talk to spark the idea of small-scale gamification. Goal of this talk was to introduce the idea of low-cost, low-intrusive gamification measures that can be applied in a highly-adaptable fashion to increase joy of use, engagement and loyalty.

After the success of our first workshop at the MuC, we came back for a sequel in 2015. This time we cut back the theoretical part and extended the hands-on work. As part of the renowned 'Mensch und Computer' conference, 4 colleagues and me hosted a workshop about gamification. The workshop began with a impulse-talk session and transitioned over to a practical phase in which the attendees could experiment with gamification techniques in fictional scenarios.

Together with a colleague i attended the industrial usability day in 2014. We held a talk about how industrial software could benefit from the much faster evolutions in usability in games. A focus of this talk was the onboarding procedure for first time users of a new piece of software.

I was invited to talk at the Fraunhofer IPA PAMB department about the oppurtinities of gamification in the scientific community. Goal of the talk was to introduce employees of the Fraunhofer to the basic techniques of gamification and to discuss their applicability to already running student projects.
